01Lack of basic facilities in government schools
Speaking to Spot News at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, wheelchair marathon runner Shailesh Kumar highlighted the lack of infrastructure for disabled students in government schools.
Kumar, who is from Bihar, explained that he realized the immense importance of education after experiencing disability himself.
According to Kumar, government schools in Bihar do not provide the necessary facilities to accommodate students with physical disabilities.
02Impact on marginalized students
Kumar stated that individuals who cannot walk or have lived with polio since birth are frequently left without access to education due to these systemic barriers.
He expressed concern that despite India marking over 75 years of independence, marginalized individuals who need education the most are still being excluded from the system.
