The PM CARES Fund, which was launched by PM Modi in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, had grown with Rs 8,452 crore in corpus at the end of March 2025, revealed the latest audit statement for the financial year 2024-25 on its official website. Interestingly, 93% of the total corpus was turned into fixed deposits, and the interest earned in 2024-25 nearly matched the donations received in the PM CARES Fund. Ratna Singh CJP’s legal affairs head said, If thousands of government schools still lack basic necessities, why not use a fund built to respond to public distress to fix them?
