More than 40 Canadian civil society have written to Public Safety Minister

More than 40 Canadian civil society, human-rights, labour and faith-based organisations have written to Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree, asking Ottawa to examine Bhagwat’s admissibility under Canadian law. Their briefing also alleges concerns around harassment of activists, academics and minority communities in the diaspora. Bhagwat is expected to visit Canada from August 31 to September 1, reportedly as part of the RSS’s wider overseas outreach. So far, the Canadian government has not announced any decision to bar him.
