What happened
The state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) donated ₹670.97 crore to 20 Sangh-linked organisations over a 10-year period, according to an investigation by The News Minute. The funding of RSS-linked groups comes despite assertions from the RSS that it does not require government support.
Between 2015 and 2025, ONGC spent a total of ₹4,531 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. While more than 2,000 organisations received funding from the public-sector corporation during this decade, 20 Sangh-linked organisations received approximately ₹670 crore.
Of these groups, nine organisations were directly affiliated with the Sangh network. Another nine were founded or led by individuals linked to the Sangh. The single largest beneficiary of the funding was the Siu-ka-pha Hospital, a Sangh-linked hospital located in Assam.
