The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has appealed to Durga Puja organisers in West Bengal to prohibit the sale and consumption of meat at pandals during the festivities. According to Aaj Tak, the VHP has not called for a complete ban on meat. Instead, it has sought designated areas outside the pandals where meat can be sold.
