The last legal remedy available in the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court noted that the case had remained in the justice system for nearly four decades before reaching finality. While restoring the conviction, it relied on medical evidence, eyewitness testimony and surrounding circumstances, observing that a traumatized child's silence cannot be used to benefit the accused. The Court also criticized the Rajasthan High Court for disclosing the survivor's identity in its judgment. The final challenge filed by the accused was a curative petition—the last legal remedy available in the Supreme Court—which has now been dismissed, bringing the litigation to an end.
