Jamia sets May 15, 2027 to finalize union charter; students end 18-day fast as notices get revoked.

After an 18-day hunger strike demanding the restoration of student union elections, Jamia Millia Islamia set May 15, 2027, as the deadline to approve and implement the students’ union constitution. Elections will be held within six weeks of the next academic session, scheduled to begin on July 16, 2027.
