Following the death of Sajjan Kumar in prison, Congress MP Deepender Hooda praised his public connection and described him as a nationwide role model. Kumar was serving a life sentence imposed by the Delhi High Court for his role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, involving five murders and the burning of a gurdwara.
