Disturbing assault in Shivamogga district

A disturbing assault in Shivamogga district has come to light after a video showing a man being brutally attacked with an iron rod went viral. The victim, identified as Manjunath, is seen lying on the road as the attacker repeatedly hits him with the weapon. The accused also appears to stomp on Manjunath’s head and drag him along the road. The video shows injuries and bleeding from the victim’s legs. The accused has been identified as Raghavendra, also known as Apple Raghu. He allegedly carried out the assault while under the influence of alcohol. Another person filming the incident can be heard questioning him about the reason for the attack. Police have registered a case and arrested Raghavendra. However, investigators are yet to establish what triggered the assault or determine the motive behind it.
