China Responds to India's UN Security Council Bid After Jaishankar's UN Push
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar officially launched India's campaign for a non permanent seat on the UN Security Council at the UN Headquarters in New York last Monday. Now, China responded to questions about India's bid. China is one of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council with veto power and has not yet expressed support for India's candidature. The other four permanent members, the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, and France, have supported India's bid on multiple occasions.
