Around 120 scientists resigned from ISRO in recent months.

Following the resignations, the Department of Space (DoS) on July 14 tightened the rules governing voluntary retirement and resignations for Group A scientists associated with Gaganyaan and other critical missions. Reacting to the development, former ISRO chairman G. Madhavan Nair said bureaucratisation within ISRO has increased, while the creation of organisations like IN-SPACe and NSIL has made the system more complex.
