Bengaluru’s tunnel-road fight has turned a 3-billion-year-old rock into a symbol of what the city fears losing. Before residents began hugging it, a government-appointed panel had reportedly called a proposed tunnel shaft inside Lalbagh “environmentally unacceptable.”
